HtbaS – Episode 39

More about the Knoxville AQS show, my trapunto class, and some felted wool projects I’ve finished up this week.

Here is the ornament I finished in Knoxville:

The Cottage

Want to know what it’s hanging on? (insert ominous music!)

Slasher and the Cottage

My grandfather made this for my parents, obviously never knowing the clown phobia that runs through the family. I call him Slasher the Clown. Mostly he twirls around in the wind. And tries to kill you in your sleep.

Here’s the felted wool table runner I just finished:

Summer on the Farm Table Runner

And here’s a close-up on the cow action (explained in the podcast):

Summer on the Farm - Personal Touch

And here’s the tranpunto project I did in my class (the white thread is the water soluble thread used to secure the extra layer of batting):

  1. I like the table runner very much as well as the ornament. The trapunto project looks very effective. I did one years ago and it was easier than it looks…well done !

  2. Enjoying the podcast… Paula Reid quilts a lot of Alex Anderson’s quilts. She also has a DVD for machine quilting…. of course I have it. I think it was one of the first released. The patterns shown are very basic and beginner quality.

Glad you had a nice time in Knoxville…. Give your mom best regards… as to the back / sciatic problems they always pop up when you can not walk properly. The alignment of her normal walking gets disturbed and puts stress on the parts of the body not originally injured. A person can only compensate so much for injury.

    Hope she gets better soon.
