State of the Sewing Room: Scrap Storage Before

I talked on this week’s podcast about scrap storage.  Here’s what I’ve currently got (click through to Flickr to see the notes on the photo):

  • Directly under the minion in the horizontal shelf thing (an old CD rack), is FQ and charm pack storage.
  • In the white basket with purple liner and the basket/box under that are batting scraps.
  • Inside the cabinet on the top 3 shelves are existing scrap storage. These are what I’m sorting through and cutting in FQs, 10″ squares, 5″ squares, 3 1/2″ squares, 2″ squares, 2 1/2″ strips, or strings. If it’s bigger than a half yard, it will be folded and put into the open shelves to the left of this view.
  • Bottom shelf is interfacings, fusibles, and Peltex, as well as my pressing ham.

Once I get my storage system figured out for the various sizes, I’ll take a different photo of the finished product!

  1. Can’t wait to see the after photo. I have a love/hate relationship with my scraps. LOL. Hope to get a better handle on them sometime…
