Faceted Jewels: Finished!

YAAAAAAY! Finally, a quilt I have made for my own bed! This is Faceted Jewels, done in batiks:
For scale, this picture is taken from my front porch, which is up a full flight of stairs since our basement is a drive-under garage. This quilt measures 108×112″. It’s slightly wider than it is longer so it’ll cover the sides of our bed the way I want.
Here’s a close-up of one of the motifs:
My friend Chris did another awesome job with the long-arming, and I’m still in love with the rich mix of colors in the batiks.

The back is a wide batik of the same fabric I used for the background on the front. Sew Batik, where I got the kit for this, has wide backings in batiks if you ever need one.

  1. Stunning! Love the colors and the quilting on this one. And now, according to my friend’s husband, you are a “real” quilter! He always told her she wasn’t a real quilter until they were sleeping under a quilt she had made. Of course I dismissed that notion until I had made my own king sized quilt and realized that it is, indeed, a very special feeling.
