HtbaS - Episode 96

This week, we said goodbye to Zapper. I get a little sad during the podcast, but do talk about a lot of other things, too, including the second Star Wars quilt, finishing CATS! (the quilt), what makes a successful scrappy quilt, and a new sew-along for the Amy Butler Weekender Bag. I also talk about some book recommendations and a new recipe!

  1. Pam, I am so sorry to hear about Zapper.

I work in a dialysis center and the other day one of my patients had a blanket from project Linus! That was the first time I’ve ever seen a project Linus blanket and it made me think of you. :)

  2. Pam, So sorry about the Zapper. We lost our 23 year old. Siamese cat a few years ago and I know how hard it can be.
Thanks again for sharing your time and talents with all of us.
I spend a lot of time alone in my quilting studio and listening to “my pod squad”, offers me much enjoyment. Shelly Beth Grappe

  3. I am sorry for the loss of your Zapper, and understand the difference between anxiety and depression all too well. I know I’m in a deep depression if I cannot summon the energy to eat, let alone do anything productive. Work helps, when I get that way.

I have recommended the free Dana Stabenow mysteries on iPad on other podcasts. She writes mysteries set in Alaska; there are two series and the first book of each is free. “A Cold Day to Die” and “Fire and Ice” are the respective titles.

I am glad that you will not be making any other Death Stars; we do not want them or Darth Vader to hurt your feelings. Sigh; your Atlanta Braves beat our Washngton Nationals last night and that hurt our feelings :)

    All the best.

  4. Pam, I was so sorry that you have lost your very special Zapper. I always loved the conversations between the two of you during the podcasts and the made me smile.

I know exactly how you feel, as I had to put my 18 year old cat “Harley” to sleep just a few months ago. It was so difficult to get through those next days, but more and more I can remember her with a smile . And if I lay very still at night, I can still feel her lying on top of my chest and purring while I held her. Be easy on yourself these next few weeks, and I wish that your tears will be replaced with a warmth in your heart when you think of what a wonderful life you provided for Zapper. Hugs…..

  5. Sending kitty condolences! So sorry about Zapper. So very hard to lose them. On a lighter note, thanks so much for the mystery series recommendations. I’ve been without a good series for a while so hopefully one of these will fit the bill. The marinade sounds delightful as well. You are a wealth of recommendations this episode. Thanks again!
