Sunday Night Stash: Pinwheels of Delight

It would have been the week I broke through and netted over 100 yards of my stash used with finishing the twin-sized quilt for Wellspring, but I succumbed to the siren call of the kit sale at Tiny Stitches and bought a bundle of FQs of Sophie by Moda with some background fabric. I reasoned that it filled in the “girlie” hole in my stash somewhat since it has lots of pink in the line. I also brought in fabric from the finishing kit for the Memories of Provence sampler I’ve been working on so I can have the top prepped and ready to go ASAP when I pick up the last block in December.

And while I was there picking up the finishing kit for Memories of Provence Friday (yes, I went two days in a row- I can quit any time I want to!), I also saw some fabric in the sale room that would be perfect borders for a red/white/black quilt I’m planning to donate for a raffle for Good Mews.

In addition to the Wellspring quilt, I did finish this totebag for my niece (the 31 year old one, not the one that’s pregnant – it’s a big family).  I figure the best way to celebrate America is with totebags and abs, so why not combine them?

No better way to celebrate America than abs!   Kim's Tote

  1. I used some of the Moda Sophie in my Swoon blocks – the turquoise background with the bouquets of flowers. I tweeted your post to Mark Lipinski, because he loves the kind of fabrics you put into the tote bags. GREAT fussy cutting/use of fabric. Hope niece appreciates the bag.

  2. I LOVE the bag!! You know I am partial to hunky shirtless guys on fabric, and in a perfect world they would all come to life and distract me from my sewing. Shhh, don’t tell my husband.

  3. I have several yards of that fabric. I plan to make pillowcases for my recently divorced sister and recently widowed sister-by-choice. I know they will appreciate them!
