HtbaS – Episode 101

  1. Yay for helper kittens in podcasts 🙂 Now you just need to teach them to purr, so we can hear them 😉

Suggestion for the game quilt: if you’re going to be making yoyos as game pieces, why don’t you make fabric dice, too? Then you can make them big enough that they won’t be a choking hazard, and you can make them in pretty colors to match the quilt and the pieces, too. Fusible appliqué stitched down for the spots (cos buttons might come off) and a cube of upholstery foam or something as the center – et voilà…

And hey, you’ve added the TARDIS to the header icons!

  2. I was working on a quilt from “Cut the Scraps” when you reviewed it! I made the chain quilt (Lucky Chain maybe? I don’t remember her name for it) this summer and was immediately interested in making it again, this time from girly fabrics. I have my eye on a couple of the other projects too, and love the scrap-cutting approach. The lucky chain is also the first project I’m doing leaders-and-enders style, at least in part. I hate waste and am a bit amazed it took me so long to get around to finding out what ‘leaders and enders’ were really about. I’ll never go back! (Though if I’m auto-pilot I’ll sure forget to feed one in before pulling my main work off the machine. It’ll be interesting to see how long it takes for the new method to become the norm).

  3. I enjoyed hearing of the kittens getting in on the podcast. I had to laugh when the kittens walked across the keyboard, making the beeping sounds and turning off the computer. My cat walks across the computer keyboard when he feels that I own him some attention. Often times he stops and stands on the keyboard, waiting for head rubs and conversation.
