Small Project Finishes

It was a busy weekend for finishing little things! I got block 6 for the Going Coastal quilt done this weekend (and the last block for Memories of Provence, but no pics of that until the quilt is done!)

I also finished this teacher gift for my son’s 3rd grade teacher.  They start the big standardized tests in 3rd grade, and the rooms need no distractions during testing, so I made this little cover to go over the window on the classroom door. The window frame is metal, so I sewed rare earth magnets into the edges of this to secure it to the window.  One side (to face out into the hallway) says “ssh… testing” and the other is just a patchwork.  The school’s mascot is a Star and the colors are blue & yellow, so the blue star fabric worked great. It’s stuck to my fridge in these pictures.

I also made 4 pillowcases for ConKerr Cancer, which I’ll take to the quilt shop at our next sew-in.

And I also finished the composition book covers I’m posting the tutorial for (in just a little bit, I promise!)
