WIP Wednesday: Lady Talk Edition

Lady Talk!At my parents’ house this Christmas, after dinner while my mom and I were sitting at the dining table while we let the menfolk clear… well, their dishes at least… my daughter Bloomer came back into the room and announced that it was time for Lady Talk. As we were all ladies, we assented. Thus has begun a tradition! Apparently any conversation between my daughter and I is “Lady Talk”, and thus contents not to be shared with anyone without ovaries.  So that’s what we did last night in between me sewing the borders on Tricky Stars.

FYI, Lady Talk is usually about cats. Shocking, I know.

So anyway, here is Tricky Stars. Or a quarter of it, at least. It’s ready to baste and quilt!

I’m also working on some zippered pouches for various purposes, but the pictures of fabric cut out are kind of boring, so no pics until they are done.

  1. Tricky Stars is gorgeous! I love how the blocks intersect – it’s a really interesting pattern. Nothing wrong with some cat chat in my book either!

  2. This does not relate to tricky stars, but I you mentioned minky and where to buy. I have purchased from a web site minkydelight.com. however I just checked and they are undergoing new management. Their minky is soft and beautiful and was reasonably priced with sales or free shipping.much better than Joannes.

  3. Oooh, I love Tricky Stars! (and poor Tricky – it’s hard to believe that there are people in the world that can harm animals like that). Those colours are gorgeous together. And I love how the 54-40 blocks change when they’re set on point.
Probably too late with this question for today’s episode, but something I have been wanting to ask for a while – what exactly is the point of leaders and enders? This is something I have yet to really understand…
