Another Aeroplane Bag Finish!

Aeroplane Bag

I mentioned on this week’s podcast that I was commissioned to make a bag by a friend, and I used part of time for the Black Friday Sew-In to finish it, and a coordinating pouch. Rather than a miserable repeat of my experience with the Weekender from last year, I steered my friend towards the Aeroplane Bag (patterns in Sara’s shop are BOGO for Black Friday weekend!). The main fabric has gray, purple, and yellow, although the purple is washed out a bit in the photos.  I went with the regular size and a gray bottom, and added some purse feet for good measure.

I did my usual trick of adding a side pocket between the handles on the exterior with a peek of purple polka dot fabric to show as well. The interior is a gray polka dot fabric.

I had enough of the exterior fabric left to make a coordinating wide-mouth zipper pouch, too.

Love this bag! I’ll take one too, please. I’m on aeroplanes lots n’ lots.

So pretty! It’s funny, when I first started seeing a lot of yellow-and-gray fabrics a while back, I didn’t care for the combination, but at some point my mind must have gotten changed because lately I’ve been seeing all sorts of yellow and gray fabric that I absolutely love..

it looks great. Very well done. I am yet to conquer zippers. I have put in a few over the years but go too long between attempts that I forget how to do it by the time I have to face one again. I must get over it and start to make some of these fantastic bags you and others churn out.

Oh I DO love yellow and grey. This bag looks wonderful.

Saw your entry in the SMS Bag Contest and the fabric grabbed me. I’m making my granddaughter’s nursery out of the same Suzanni Sunshine! Love the fussy cut on the big yellow sun! Great bag! I wanted to enter but I’m not quite halfway on the Paprazzi camera bag. Oh well, my granddaughter is due on Dec 21 and I still need to finish the diaper stacker so I have other projects. I ordered the fabric from BabyBedding.com.
