Sunday Stash - 99(ish) Yards of Fabric on the Wall

Well, I survived my week away from home at a training event for work. Things went well, I met lots of new people that I’ll be working with, and I didn’t gain any weight from all the catering. Huzzah!

I did miss my daughter’s birthday and my wedding anniversary, but I did eat an awesome Steak Ranch Salad with bacon on it. I recommend it at the Paradiso 37 restaurant in Downtown Disney in Orlando. And the house lager there. I can also recommend the Blonde ale at BJ’s Brewhouse - deeeeeelicious.

The only time I got a chance to do any sewing while traveling was some EPP at airports or on planes.  I’ve probably got enough units done to piece together a full row of my Tula Pink quilt, so that will be happening sometime soon.

Scrapitude UnitsYesterday I got a chance to sit down at my machine and finished up the latest step in Scrapitude.  I know Sandy said she didn’t want pictures of a finished top posted out of courtesy for those quilters that want to wait for the “official” instructions, so I’m just posting the finished units here.  I’ve figured out the layout and will get started piecing my top together since I’m under deadline to get it done for a charity auction.

So having said alllll that, I didn’t finish anything this week. Except a lot of beer.

  • Used this Week: 0 yards and 5 pints of beer
    • Sad trombone! (except for the beer)
  • Used year to Date: 34 yards
  • Added this Week: 0 yards
    • Woohoo!
  • Net Used for 2014: 16.25 yards
  • YTD Used for Charity: 12.75 yards (32% of total used)

I dined a Paradiso 37 the week before but had to pass on the beer because of some medication I was taking. I was surprised at how many families were there but maybe they were locals enjoying the area. Glad your week was successful. I spent mine at meetings in St Louis so yesterday I was very happy to spend some quality time with my sewing machine too.

  2. well done on not gaining weight, surviving and maybe enjoying some of your time away and on your stash usage. I finished a baby quilt sometime in the last two weeks so that makes it 3 quilts for me for the year for a total of 20.91 metres used and no purchases :) I have to tell you.. have no one else to tell. Good to hear from you. I don’t like beer at all (very unAustralian of me I know) There are a few wines I like but on the whole I would rather have my calories in chocolate :)

And I ran for 40 minutes this week… well I think I did. phone went flat so had to go off my watch and I hadn’t noted my departure time. I think it was for over 4 kms so I am getting there

I have restarted my blog too… I give you lots of credit for my fitness regime :)

Did you use one background (I see white?) for Scrapitude or are those white squares a variety of whites? Really nice looking. I’d like to see the final Scrapitude that you put together. Send me a photo or an idea. Mystery is not so attractive to me.
