Sunday Stash - Polkadotamusness

This week was fairly productive with the quilt retreat I had on Saturday.  Before then, I finished my Sidekick tote (pics coming when it stops raining).  I prepped a couple projects, and managed to almost finish a the Polkadotamus baby quilt top and complete 4 zipper pouches. I also worked on the applique for 2 of 6 blocks to finish Bonnie & Camille, and sewed together some pinks scraps for some “made” fabric.

Polkadotamus is the same pattern as Frilly, but with applique in the middle of the plain blocks. It’s a commission quilt for a friend’s new grand-niece or -nephew.

Then today, I got industrious and finished the final border for the Quilt of Valor I’ve been puttering on, and quilted and bound it.

  1. Polkadotamusness is so cute! 1st, how in the world did you think of that most awesome name? I am so bad at naming my quilts. 2nd, I always feel weird about white in a baby quilt, did they request it or (as I have no children) do you find that it is no big deal?

    1. Okayyyy, so my name is actually Alison (therefore the “G” because I didn’t want to be confused with the podcasting Alison). I guess I was posting too fast, seeing as I was at work…that’s what I get. You might remember me from the cherry pie incident, where I was given a whole pie as a thank you and was unsure what to do with it. You assured me that eating it was the best answer. I actually ate a chunk and gave the rest to those very fit people that work at my gym :-).

  2. The quilt is more fun when you are lucky enough to see it in person. Great choice of fabrics. Saturday was productive and good fun.
