WIP Wednesday: Rainbow Brite

This week I’ve been working on the Solid as a Rock pattern.  I’ve got my sample mostly made.  It will be completely made if I feel like it doesn’t need another border:

Nina’s laser beams are cracking me up.

Options I’m considering include:

  • Piano key like border
  • Chunks of solid colors (maybe around 4″ x 6″)
  • BIG chunks of solid colors in different sizes (between 4″ x 6″ and 4″ x 18″)

It has just occurred to me that this is a benefit of EQ7, so I’m off to play with border designs!

  1. I am not generally a big fan of the Friendship Star block. However the Friendship Star variation in the bottom left hand corner is wonderful. I really like it. The additions definitely are not boring.

    Nina’s eyes scare me.

  2. I am loving this quilt! You are giving me a new appreciation for what solids can do. Nina is going to shoot laser beams right through the computer at my kitty, I just know it!

  3. Love your quilt and scary kitty! I don’t think it needs anything else added to it. I hope this isn’t too dumb of a question. On the side of the screen on your website, it says to shop Amazon to support the podcast. How does Amazon know that I’m shopping to support you, or am I supposed to click on the link on the screen (which I am always leery about!)? Thanks!

    1. Hi Kate - It was a Block of the Month type pattern run by my LQS. The shop owner asked if I would design a center medallion layout for them to complement the blocks they designed. I’ll ask if they’ll offer the full pattern for sale!
