WIP Wednesday - Jellyrolling Along

I’m in a bit of a pickle on WIP Wednesday since what I’ve been working on is Christmas gifty and I can’t show it yet. So instead, here’s my jelly roll collection - including two posers: a honey bun and a dessert roll.

One of those I have plans to put into a king size Christmas quilt for my bed, but I’m not committing to whether it’ll be this Christmas or next. 😀

Another will be a trial pattern. Another is just pretty. And another might end up in an article of clothing. And another still will make a cool neutral quilt. And one… I have no idea what to do with. Sigh.

Stay tuned for our November episode of The Stitch where Lynn and I talk about strip quilt patterns (and show off some of her jellyroll stash!).  New episode out on Black Friday, to help entertain you during the Black Friday Sew In, or #BFSI on twitter!

  1. It took me years to finally break down and buy a jelly roll, as I’m more of a design-as-you-go scrap quilt type of quilter. I am now the proud owner of two jelly rolls, but have yet to break up the pretty swirl. I can’t wait to see what you do with yours. On another note, I need to catch up with The Stitch! I’m already a couple episodes behind, and I don’t want it to fall into the category of Must Watch, But There’s No Time shows on my Netflix queue. Gah!

  2. Nice collection of jelly rolls. I have a few in my stash 🙂 I buy white or black Kona jelly rolls when I find them on sale because they make great sashing or border strips. I have been pulling fabric for a neutral quilt but not sure what the pattern will be. I have been using left over strips from jelly roll projects to make placemats for quick gifts. I look forward to the next episode of The Stitch!
