Sunday Stash - Closing In

Lots of sewing going on this week since I’ve been gloriously off work and spending time with family and Christmasing and watching movies.

But enough of all those feelings and such - let’s get to the fibers!  I’m all caught up on the Allietare Mystery, and here are all my pieces together, waiting for the next clue on Friday.  You can see other’s progress on Bonnie’s blog.

Today, in between undecorating Christmas bits, I finished a comfort quilt for someone (pics after they receive it), and whipped up a new cover for the piece of plywood we use to set the Christmas tree on.  We do that so the train track lays smoothly, and then put a mini tree skirt on the base of the actual tree stand.  My Christmas fabric is pretty well decimated after this last project, which is just as well since I’ve made a conscious effort to use to up the past few years.

I’ve got another Quilt of Valor to sandwich and finish, and then the Harry Potter bookshelf quilt this week.  In between quilting things, I’ve got an overflowing scrap basket needing to be addressed.  That should keep me busy until I post a final “year in review” Stash Report- with graphs!

  • Used this Week: 9 yards
    • 5.5 yd for comfort quilt

  1. LOVE the turquoise and orange! And yes, that is some SERIOUS usage. I barely cracked 80 and thought I was doing well. congrats!

  2. I am so in awe of all of your work. right now I am working on denim rag quilts; fun but time consuming. I can’t wait to see the Harry Potter quilt!

  3. I am looking forward to seeing the finished Altlitiare quilt the blue and orange should work really well. My goal for 2016 is to use or share my Christmas fabric stash to zero. Having time to sew more will help me get there. I am also in purge mode for all fabric that does not bring me joy. Part of the purge will be several quilts of valor done as leaders and enders. I have not seen much of my sewing room in the last few weeks as it is the overflow guest room and we have truly enjoyed having overflow fro the holidays!

  4. Oh Pam, I totally feel you about the Christmas china. my mom thought I needed christmas china 20 years ago, now I have 4 bins of china (12 place settings) sitting in the attic. And, I don’t even really like the pattern!
