HtbaS – Episode 294

In Ep 294 of the Hip to be a Square quilting podcast, I talk about my fabric stash usage for 2016, working on the Bonnie Hunter Mystery En Provence, some of the late quilt finishes last year, and give a review of recent books and Netflix series I’ve enjoyed.

Here is the dragon wallhanging I made for Lynn, “Stitch’s Glamor Shot”. Paper piecing pattern from Fandom in Stitches.

  1. Thanks for the engineer shoutout. I’m sure there are more lurking out there, but are being their usual introverted selves. Since my day job involves large steel machinery, my favorite fabric lines are, of course, by Cotton and Steel – the perfect combination of engineering and quilting.

As always, I appreciate the book recommendations. I’ll have to check out the #quiltflix for migraine days when I’m on the sofa with some quiet knitting (too many of those recently).

  2. I don’t care about the color of the year. It feels like some kind of marketing scam (nothing personal. šŸ˜‰ )

I am glad you mentioned the Hanging Tree. Last time I looked it wasn’t yet available, but now it is so I will read #5 again and then read The Hanging Tree. #5 was so confusing so I think I need to revisit it.

I would give up on Stephanie Plum if I were you and just wait until the last novel then read that. I can’t understand, though I can a little bit, why you are torturing yourself. My BIL just published his first novel, a YA novel. When he told me about it, I thought of you. It is called Verity Creek and is about Australia. Find it at: http://amzn.to/2lGbGeh I haven’t read it yet, but will soon.

Yes, I am #podcastdeliquent. I didn’t realize I was so many behind in your podcast. Sorry about that.
