Episode 302 of The Stitch TV Show – Audio Only

Join Lynn and I for an invigorating recap of longarm quilting tips, and what we (and maybe you) should look for when choosing a quilt pattern or book.

The quilt hanging behind us is our new Main Squeeze quilt pattern, which can be used with either a layer cake or a jelly roll!

Our next Virtual Stitch-In is Sept 8, 2017 at 7 pm US Eastern.

This is the audio-only version of the YouTube video, produced as a quilting podcast. See show notes, links to the various things we talk about, photos, and more on The Stitch TV Show page!  I’ll be back next week for the usual solo geeky fare.

HtbaS Quilting Podcast – Episode 310

It’s been a busy couple of weeks for me, both in and outside of the quilting world! In this quilting podcast episode I talk through having a down week this week, why my personal tagline is “hilarious at funerals”, making progress on donation quilts, more exciting news for The Stitch TV Show, and review a number of books.

HtbaS – Episode 303

In this episode of the Hip to be a Square quilting podcast, I talk about getting my first magazine pattern published: No Regrets! I also give an update about my job situation (ugh), the Atlanta roads (more ugh), and the bags I’ve been making lately.

If you want to get a copy of the pattern for the No Regrets quilt, check out Issue 16 of Make Modern Magazine. Use code “friends16” to get a digital copy for only AU$5 until June 1!

Sunday Stash – Sampling

In a fit of… insanity? delusion? I decided to take on a literal challenge for the Bad Ass Quilters Society so I bought some fabric this week  To be fair, I’m not quite sure what the deadline is, but I suspect it’s early March. I’m still noodling on a design in the short term, though, while I’m mindlessly piecing the third sample for the quilt pattern I’m writing.

It was also playoff weekend for American football, which normally would not affect me in the least but my husband is a giant fan of the Atlanta Falcons, and they have won their game and will be playing in the Big Game on February 5. Conveniently, that’s the same day as the Sportsball Sew In! Show us what you’re sewing on social media that day with #SBSI.

I’ve finished two of the sample quilt tops and have one basted, so no finishes this week but very likely there will be a couple next weekend.  I did finish my two Saturday Sampler blocks, though! Here’s the latest Summertime Blues, and the first in the new program Great Grunge.
