This quilt stretched my quilting process quite a bit, but I’m really happy with how it turned out.
The piecing was relatively simple, from the leftovers of the Grand Illusion quilt (and the very last bits went into placemats! For the quilting, I was originally thinking of doing a woodgrain pattern, but I ended up doing intentionally wobbly straight(ish) line quilting. I’ve seen it in other modern quilts, and thought I’d give it a whirl.
Admittedly, it takes a looooong time to do – if I had stippled this, I could have knocked it out in an hour. Straight line quilting it took about 3 hours.
It’s pretty worth it, though. I’m thinking I might want to replicate it on another quilt.
Of course it has a pieced back, too. Are you sensing a theme yet this week?
