HtbaS – Episode 283

This week, I talk about fixing an applique faux pas after the fact, the Twilter Birds in the Air quilt, sewing for charity, and talk about a few books.

  • Zer0es by Chuck Wendig
  • Who Do You Love by Jennifer Weiner (note: I mistakenly said that someone died in the prologue, but I misspoke. The main character “lost” someone, so I interpreted it one way. Regardless, I finished the book and still love it!)

Today’s podcat is Morelli, who was helpering with the layout of one of the donation quilts I was working on.

  1. I usually wear an apron when quilting, to protect my clothes from large pins on the longarm and also to keep me warm in a cool basement. If you wore an apron over your favorite funny t’s when taping The Stitch, no one watching would be the wiser.

  2. Maybe one episode should be funny, geeky t-shirt day! That would be fun!
Have you posted the pictures of the kaffe fasset quilt? I can’t seem to find it but would love to see it. I agree that it’s awesome but intimidating fabric! Love your podcast!

  3. A quick question about your clothes sewing: Where do you purchase fabric to make clothes? I just bought Amy Barickman’s “The Magic Pattern” book and am excited to get back to sewing clothes. But I have not found great clothing fabric at the local big box store or at my LQS. Any suggestions? Thanks!
